Brainpop is a fun way to expand your child’s knowledge, comprehension, and vocabulary. Go to www.brainpopjr.com. Have your child choose from a wide variety of interesting free videos. Watch these together. Following each short show, choose to take the easy online quiz where they tell you immediately if your answer is correct. If the quiz is too difficult, you may watch the video again. Once your child has mastered the easy quiz, take the hard online quiz together.

Please check out these wonderful tools with your child including the Word Families, Letter Recognition, and Vowel Diphthong. There are electronic flashcards of sight words if you click on the Kindergarten Word List. There are additional components for math and all of the other subjects on this website at http://curriculum.leeschools.net . Your child will love these. It will help your child do well in school and advanced their skills correlated with our curriculum.

This Spalding Phonics Program will help your child understand and distinguish between letter sounds and different phonemes in a visual, auditory, kinesthetic way. It doesn’t take much time but imprints important skills. Your child could take a few minutes to do this every day. I would suggest starting with a few each day and adding as your child becomes comfortable with knowing the phonics lessons.
To use this link, your child should listen to the teacher say, “I say …” then the child should copy the actions and sounds the teacher makes. I will be using this in the classroom with your child throughout the year.
